How We Test

Our reviews and comparisons are written to help businesses choose call center software, business phone systems and call center services with confidence. This page explains how we evaluate products.

Hands-on testing

Wherever a free trial or demo account is available, we sign up and use the product ourselves. We set up a phone number, configure call routing and IVR menus, place and receive test calls, and try the features that matter most to small and mid-sized support teams. Screenshots in our reviews come from our own test accounts unless stated otherwise. When a product does not offer a trial (common with enterprise contact center platforms), we base our review on official documentation, product demos and verified user reviews, and we say so clearly in the article.

What we evaluate

  • Ease of setup: How quickly a small team can get up and running
  • Core calling features: Call routing, IVR, queues, call recording, voicemail
  • Integrations: CRM and helpdesk connections such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zendesk and Freshdesk
  • Reporting: Real-time dashboards and call center metrics like average handle time and service level
  • AI features: Transcription, call summaries and agent assist tools, where available
  • Pricing and value: Published prices, contract terms and what is included in each plan
  • Support and reliability: Support channels, uptime commitments and user feedback

Pricing information

Prices change often. We check pricing on each vendor’s official website and show the date we last checked. Always confirm the current price with the vendor before you buy.

Keeping content up to date

We review our main comparison and review pages at least every three months and update them when products, prices or features change. Every article shows the date it was last updated.

Independence

Some of the companies we review have affiliate programs, and we may earn a commission when readers sign up through our links. Commissions never affect our ratings, and products without affiliate programs are tested and compared using the same criteria. Read our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
